Movie Date Vol. 27: Despicable Me 3

June 15, 2017

As usual, it was always fun watching this movie. However, for me, it was like other series where it will be hard to surpass the first one’s outcome. I still preferred the first one. But this one, was a story of family and of brotherhood. I liked it that they’ve gotten quite emotional here. Watch it, you may get involved in a dance fight, soon.

Something Happened Vol. 7: The 119th Declaration Of Philippine Independence

When: June 12, 2017

Where: Philippines

What: The 119th Declaration of the Philippine Indepence from Spain since 1898

Philippine President: Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte

There were too many things that have happened and I  wasn’t able to log. But, this time, I wouldn’t let this pass as to where the declaration and the first time the Philippine flag was ever flown, is very close to my heart. It was in Cavite and I’m proud to be a CaviteΓ±a. Ahaha.

To all the Filipinos, Happy Independence Day!!!!

The Philippine Declaration of Independence Day on June 12, 1898 took place in Cavite El Viejo which we knew now as Kawit, Cavite. But prior, to that date, on May 28, 1898, the Philippine flag was first flown in Alapan, Imus, Cavite. I want to share here what the city government is doing to constantly remind us of this historical event. Hopefully, this can be maintained and will be considered during future developments.

In this place, the Battle of Alapan took place. It was here that the first Philippine flag was flown. The area that this statue was built is still a vast agricultural land, still far from the city’s on-going developments. Hence, my wish to make this place stay longer if not forever.

The Philippine flags circling the area of the 90-foot flag pole. In this site, happened one of the series of battles in the Philippine Revolution.

The towering height of the 90-foot flag pole stands proud.

A closer look.

Movie Date Vol. 26: Pirates Of The Caribbean Salazar’s Revenge

May 29, 2017

Also known as the Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. I liked this sequel particularly the part where it had tackled a father – daughter story. I had interpreted the acts of Captain Hector Barbossa as that no matter how hard one’s heart is, there will always be a soft spot inside him just like when Captain Barbossa sacrificed himself just to save lives especially the life of his daughter, Carina Smyth.

Movie Date Vol. 25: The Boss Baby

May 09, 2017

I didn’t like the movie that much but still it had some lines that I thought worth noting:

“The road to success is not always a straight line.”

“When you’re used to success it’s always downhill.”

“Either you run the day or the day runs you.”

“Aim away from failure and you’ll always succeed.”

“Tame a ship.”

“There’s plenty of love for everyone.”

Movie Date Vol. 24: Beauty and The Beast

March 16, 2017

Screen capped from the animated film version.

Our two girls can’t wait. They were really excited at the day that they can finally watch the movie. We, my husband and I, need to work first . So, after office, it was going to be a date with the kids. However, when we checked, the schedule suitable for them were all fully booked. We’ve already checked 3 cinemas. Unfortunately, school days weren’t over yet, we didn’t want to settle at the time of the last full show. Oh, no! My husband told me that the kids were crying. They were disappointed that they cannot watch it that night. Still blessed, our next attempt was a success. We were able to book in SM Cinema. So, the mood swung.

They were like this during the movie. “Wow!” and they were all smiles, even gaping when they saw Beauty in her elegant gown. Ahaha. Kids!!! It was a sight to see their reactions. I didn’t want to ruin how they had appreciated the movie, ’cause for me, I liked the cartoon version more. Why?Probably, I can’t get over yet with Hermione. Hehe.
