A Day in Nobu Hotel Manila

At last, our much awaited Christmas holiday accommodation in Nobu Hotel Manila was finally realized. We have booked a Premier room for an overnight stay on Dec 26, 2015 thru Agoda. We were so excited of this staycation as this was very controversial from the day it has opened in 2014 until just recently, that it has been named as 2015’s worst new luxury hotel. Despite that, it didn’t affect us so much. Come on, this was Nobu. New. Celebrity-inspired. Luxurious. City of Dreams. This was another family milestone. Let’s get it on.
As it was our first time, we were quite lost. The signs were not that clear. When you will be visiting the place, make sure to go straight until the last corner, where the signage of the City of Dreams was standing, then turn right, that’s where the Nobu entrance is located. You may opt to ask a valet to park your car. Otherwise, you have to drive thru the carpark across the building. Once parked, you need to walk back to the hotel.

The towering City of Dreams signage.

There were a number of guests during our date of visit. Early room check-in was not possible. However, we can go swimming already but because our things were not yet settled, we can’t leave it in the concierge that time, there were quite a number of people bugging him already and I didn’t want to join, we opted to go around the City of Dreams first.

Of course, there was the Casino. Picture taking was not allowed, though. There were lots of luxury shops, the famous and the hottest clubs, Pangaea and Chaos, respectively, but, what we’re after was the DreamPlay for our kids. I can’t give more details yet, we didn’t push with our plan to try this out. The park was also crowded. It may be best to schedule this some other time.

Way to the casino, if you're coming from the hotel or vice versa.

The long wait was over. It was already 3PM. Check-in time had officially started.  The room, the furniture, everything inside the room was good. But then, it was beginning to feel a little off. Yeah, the staffs were beautiful. Their uniforms were classy. They were approachable, accommodating. However, I was not satisfied. I was looking something suited for their class but didn’t feel it. We’ve stayed in other non-luxury hotel and I must say, their approaches were way better than Nobu’s. Was it because of the management? I wasn’t sure, though.

Here’s the photographic documentation of our stay.

I love every details in the reception area. Simple yet elegant.

This was where we had our overnight stay, Room 7503. These keycards will let you access the elevator, too. Without this, you can't go up.

The comfy bed where the four of us have fitted in.

Fresh fruits as our welcome offer.

Fresh plant inside our room. What a lovely flower.

The very comfortable robes and slippers. This was the first time I brought home these black and white or white and black pairs. Hehe.

Elegance inside the CR. In fairness, I like its design. It doesn't wet the floor too much. Less stress for me as I didn't have to constantly wipe it for the kid's safety. I also loved the rosemary and white tea scent of their toiletries. Body balm was provided instead of the regular body lotion.

No nespresso machine available. But, I loved their tea variants.

I didn't get the chance to take a full view of the calligraphy on the wall. That speaker, that was JBL premium speakers. I forgot to try it, though.

This area was one of the things I haven't tried yet. I was not a gym person, I didn't know how to operate the equipments. Haha.

Nonetheless, it was a beautiful experience. You just have to act on how you can turn the bad into good.

It made me relax just seeing these sites.
