Sky Blue Weekend in Batangas: Anilao Discovery Bay

It’s summer time. Wuhooo! Summmmmmeeeeeerrrrr, with a super high voice pitch. It would really be nice if it could be spent in a beach matched with a very scenic view. You, sitting at the shore, holding a glass of fresh fruit juice and watching other tourists passed by. While, the kids are enjoying their shovel and the sand. Ahaha, getting emotional with all my imaginations here.

But last weekend, we were blessed to experience a little of those emo moments. It was daddy’s company outing. Yey! I was excited for the kids. The thought of swimming will make them jump out of joy. Hehe. But, I never told them, ahead. They will keep on asking me about the swimming pool if I would have done that. I just told them at the day itself. It was an overnight stay so imagine their reactions when they saw our bags all packed. They, literally, screamed and jumped.

At the night of May 15, 2015, we started our trip going to one of the newest destination in Mabini, Batangas, the Anilao Discovery Bay. It took us hours to get to the destination. Unfortunately, various barangays were celebrating their feasts. Traffic situation was bad. The kids seemed not too excited anymore because of the long drive.

When we got to the resort, we were greeted by the all smiling staffs, even though, it was already late. I thought we won’t have anything because it was already 11pm. But, they prepared something special for us. We were served with yummy dinner. We had sinigang na hipon, grilled big tuna (hehe, as in big), adobong pusit and the favorite of most Filipino, crispy pata. Wow! But, just as I’ve told, I have to control myself because it was already sleeping time. That’s why after filling up our tummy, we went straight to the room to regain our energy for tomorrow’s activity. No time to spend checking the area because of the kids. Anyways, who can resist beds, neatly covered with white linens. Especially after a tiring day, who was I not to give in. Hehe.

I took some pictures, though.

We wanted to see the sun rises but we failed to get up earlier than planned. We just took a visit of the beach and proceed to have breakfast. The view from the area was perfect. Eating by the sea, overlooking the mountains, watching the boats passed by, blue sky. What a perfect landscape, a nice way to spend vacation.

After the breakfast, we immediately went to the pool area. Kids can’t wait. Of course, the itinerary would be to swim all day. Hehe, that’s for Maggie, Maxine and me. Daddy and the rest of the team have their own activities. The resort offer a lot of them. You can go kayaking, banana boat riding, jet skiing and scuba diving. If you’re no fan of the beach, you have three pool choices. One for the kids, the other for the kids no more and the last was the 18-ft deep which they use when giving diving lessons. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough pictures because I was the lifeguard of my two kids. Besides, I don’t expect that I will finally do this, writing about the things the family had experienced.

It was a great experience. Despite, the travel constraint, we had a great stay, plus the great foods. The resort was just a year old and construction and developments are still on-going, but I would definitely recommend the place. Though, I need to confirm the rates as we went there at the company’s expense. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
